What are custom inset cabinets?
Inset cabinets feature doors and drawer fronts that sit inside the cabinet face frame rather than resting on top of it. This creates a clean, flush, furniture-style appearance. Every CabinetNow inset cabinet is made to order for a precise fit and a fully customized layout.
How are the inset cabinets constructed?
Each cabinet is built from premium 3/4" UV-prefinished maple plywood. The inset cabinet line also features one-piece MDF face frames and matching MDF doors and drawer fronts, providing a smooth surface that is ideal for unfinished or factory-painted applications.
Are the cabinets built to custom dimensions?
Yes. Our inset cabinets are made to order and produced to a 1/16-inch manufacturing tolerance for exceptional accuracy, fit, and finish. Available dimensions and customization options may vary by cabinet type.
Are the inset cabinets manufactured in-house?
Yes. Our custom inset cabinets are manufactured in our own facility in the USA. Keeping production in-house allows us to maintain consistent quality control, produce cabinets to your specifications, and inspect each order throughout the manufacturing process.
Can I order the cabinets assembled or ready to assemble?
Yes. Custom inset cabinets are available ready to assemble, also known as RTA, or fully assembled. Select your preferred assembly option on the product page. Additional charges apply to assembled cabinets.
Can I order the inset cabinets painted or unfinished?
Yes. You can order your inset cabinets unfinished and ready for paint or select a professional factory-painted finish. The MDF doors and face frames provide a smooth, consistent surface designed for painted cabinetry.
Which Sherwin-Williams® paint colors are available?
You can choose any Sherwin-Williams® paint color. If your preferred color is not shown on the product page, enter the Sherwin-Williams color name and color number in the order comments during checkout.

Do painted inset cabinets require additional production time?
Yes. Factory-painted finishes add approximately three weeks to the standard production lead time. This additional time allows for surface preparation, professional finishing, curing, and quality inspection.
Is a toe kick included with the cabinet?
A standard toe kick is included with base, tall, and vanity cabinets. Wall cabinets do not include a toe kick because they are designed to be mounted above the floor. Select products may also offer alternate toe kick heights, a flush toe kick, or no toe kick.
Can I add shelves, vertical dividers, or roll-out trays?
Select inset cabinet products offer optional shelving, vertical dividers, and roll-out trays. The options available depend on the cabinet style and dimensions. Review the product options before adding the cabinet to your cart.
How do I measure for inset cabinet doors?
Inset cabinet doors sit inside the face-frame opening, so clearance must be deducted from the opening dimensions.

Single inset door:
Opening width − 0.25" = door width
Opening height − 0.25" = door height
For example, a 10" wide by 10" high opening would require a door measuring 9.75" wide by 9.75" high.

Split inset doors:
(Opening width − 0.25") ÷ 2 − 0.0625" = width of each door
Opening height − 0.25" = height of both doors
For example, a 36" wide by 16" high opening would require two doors measuring approximately 17.8125" wide by 15.75" high each.
