What is the Strongest Wood for Kitchen Cabinets?

Oak and hickory are some of the strongest, most reliable wood species available for custom cabinet doors. They generally cost more, but they mix beauty with long-lasting reliability. If you want doors that resist impacts and warping, these two would be good choices. Oak in particular has uniquely attractive grain markings, is super strong and durable for long life, and takes less damage during cleaning.

Maple is softer but still quite durable. It's shock and abrasive resistant with a highly decorative wood grain while being hard, stiff, and smooth to the touch, and less prone to warping and bending.

Cherry is slightly softer than Maple but it's still a hard wood. Cherry has reddish brown tints with straight grains and a smooth surface but is also lightweight, moisture resistant, hard, and stiff to prevent warping and bending.
