Creating a DIY home library using custom cabinets can be a fun and rewarding project to add character for any homeowner. Check out this traditional approach for creating a DIY home library from CabinetNow’s valued customer, Allan.

Before Shots Of Allan’s Man Cave

Rustic man cave

Allan had a vision of turning his mancave basement space into a more sophisticated, traditional aesthetic with our custom cabinets. As a DIYer himself, he knew he could tackle this DIY home library project with the help of our designers. As pictured, he already had a couple book shelves in place, but wanted to upgrade to more premium quality cabinets using CabinetNow’s plywood cabinet boxes.

Working With CabinetNow Designers

3D rendering cabinets

Working alongside CabinetNow designers, they designed his new space based on the wall measurements Allan provided using 3D rendering so he could better visualize the potential of his new home library. To match the rest of his traditional home aesthetic, he chose red oak for the material of his new cabinets and CabinetNow’s Patriot ¾” cabinet doors for the storage base cabinets on the right wall.

Custom cabinets provide flexibility in shelving options, offering adjustable shelving to accommodate your personal needs and possessions.

Assembling The DIY Home Library

With two helpers, Allan successfully assembled our ready to assemble plywood cabinets and added all shelving, ensuring they were spaced evenly. Still awaiting his cabinet doors, Allan used a gorgeous stain that perfected his new red oak library cabinets.

Simple, Yet Sophisticated After Look
